Now that the Giannis Antetokounmpo era is officially over, attention shifts to what comes next in Milwaukee.
According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, Tyler Herro is “thrilled” about the opportunity to join the Bucks. Haynes added that the Wisconsin native has long envisioned playing for his hometown team at some point during his career.
That said, Herro’s future in Milwaukee remains far from certain.
According to a report from The Athletic’s Sam Amick and Eric Nehm, the Bucks are open to keeping the 2025 All-Star but are also expected to listen to trade inquiries. Given Herro’s age, scoring ability and popularity around the league, there figures to be plenty of interest.
Heat
Meanwhile, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the blockbuster trade between Milwaukee and Miami could still expand before it becomes official on July 6.
While no additional teams are currently involved, both organizations have time to explore potential additions to the deal.
ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne noted that the final package Miami sent to Milwaukee resembled discussions the two teams had before the trade deadline, only with “a little more” attached.
That included additional young players, draft capital and the No. 13 overall pick, which wasn’t eligible to be traded earlier this year.
Celtics
The Celtics aggressively pursued Antetokounmpo before Milwaukee ultimately chose Miami’s offer.
Now the focus shifts back to Jaylen Brown.
While ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Boston has never actively shopped Brown, the All-NBA forward suddenly becomes one of the biggest names to watch this offseason.
Appearing on ESPN’s Get Up, Brian Windhorst suggested Brown could still be moved even with Antetokounmpo off the board.
“My guess is, even if Giannis wasn’t available, I swear I think Jaylen Brown might be on the block this year,” Windhorst said.
Windhorst added that he could envision a “bidding war” developing for Brown and went so far as to predict the Celtics star could be playing elsewhere when next season begins.
Whether that actually happens remains to be seen.
But after weeks of Giannis rumors, Brown may now become the biggest trade storyline in the NBA.
